Since the adoption of the law on June 6th, 2025, the College of Osteopaths of New Brunswick (CONB/OONB) has been officially established. This law includes a specific grandfathering clause, allowing practitioners who were already practicing osteopathy in New Brunswick between June 2022 and June 2025 to join the College without being immediately required to meet all of the usual educational entry requirements.

Specifically:

  • Practitioners who worked in osteopathy in NB during this three-year period may apply for registration, regardless of their initial education.

  • Proof of practice is required (for example, insurance receipts, billing records, etc.).

  • Applicants must also provide a New Brunswick address and dates of practice.

  • Membership fees are the same for everyone.

  • After June 6th, 2025, all new applicants must meet the regular admission requirements, the same as those of the former AONB (including programs aligned with WHO benchmarks, with at least 4,200 hours of training and 1,000 supervised clinical hours for those without prior healthcare training).

⚠️ IMPORTANT: The deadline for grandfathering applications is November 3rd, 2025. After this date, no new grandfathering applications will be accepted.
